A resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan has designated a new organiser for the Sharq Taronalari international music festival and approved a programme of measures to prepare the XIV edition.
The festival is organised by the National Operator of Cultural Projects under the Culture and Arts Development Foundation. The document sets out a renewed concept, new competition rules and an international jury.
The festival keeps its two-year cycle and its historic main stage on Registan Square. The competition programme is complemented by gala concerts, an academic conference and a city programme of street stages and craft markets.
Exact dates for the XIV edition will be announced once the programme is approved by the organising committee.
